I knew this would be an opportunity to get that new perspective I’ve been lacking. In a horrible turn of events, my 5 Minute Journal arrived the day before my world was turned upside down - the worst day of my life - losing my dad. I finally was able to get my hands on one since throughout the holiday season they were seemingly sold out. This is what made the 5 Minute Journal so appealing. Maybe it’s the growing up in the age of Livejournal or maybe it’s the fact that for some reason we were pushed to have school journals and diaries when younger. Despite having a blog I am terrible at long-form journaling. A way of giving myself a new perspective while also kinda having a record of all the good, bad, and indifferent things that happen through the span of a year. With the very best of intentions, I always thought to myself perhaps that is one thing I could add to my life. I had always seen people talk about bullet journals, journal prompts, and, of course, the 5 Minute Journal. Mainly with the intention of figuring out what I can improve or change. These opinions are entirely my own and this post is NOT sponsored.Įvery new year, I always take stock of the last 365 days. Together we examine a trend, an idea, or a product I tried. Neat-o! Last but not least, this app is delivered by a one-woman show.Note: I Tried It is an old favorite of mine and a long read. Also, I haven’t seen anybody else with the providing the ability to export into CSV or PDF. This clean app keeps me focused on what really matters. But I only did that rarely because I realized I was wasting time scrolling around looking for the right photo. The only thing I see missing compared to others is the ability to post pictures. If I want to, I will be able to figure out when I was having dips or when strings of days seemed consistently 5 stars, what was going on in my life. The added bonus of a mood tracker is very cool. I found this app and stood and could not be happier! It is super clean and only gives what you need: clear space to document some gratitude and react to your days. They helped in the past and probably will on this fiasco but I’m not waiting. Look no further!!! I’ve tried a couple others and was recently very frustrated when, for the second time, all of my history in Five Minute Journal disappeared after an update.
